Wanderers
Music: Viktor Jonas | lyrics: Andy Walmsley
We are the wanderers, we are the lost
We are the weak and weary, weather-worn and tempest-tossed
We are all searching, searching for meaning, searching for purpose in this life
Searching for something, we can believe in, somewhere that we can belong
But the higher that we climb, the further we must fall again in time
And the longer that we strive, the harder we must struggle to survive
To keep our heads above the water, and hold our own against the tide
But every day the pull grows stronger, and we grow a little weaker inside
This is the ebb and the flow of our days, always unchanging but never the same
This is the rise and the fall of our lives, this is the pattern, the endless design
This is how our days pass by
We are all searching, searching for meaning, searching for purpose in this life
Searching for something, we can believe in, somewhere to belong
Life is just a wave, in temporary motion, searching for the shore
Until it breaks, and rejoins the ocean, returning to the source
We all go back, from whence we came
Becoming one with the ocean once again
We all return, to where we all began
And only then do we begin to understand
That there is no other way, the current is too strong
It always takes us back to where we truly belong
We knew this from the very start
Somehow we’ve known it all along
There is such solace and such peace
In the moment of acceptance
That nothing lasts forever
But nothing ever truly ends
Nothing is forgotten
No-one is ever truly gone
Because life is just a wave, in temporary motion, searching for the shore
Until it breaks, and rejoins the ocean, returning to the source
